I have repaid $2,000 of my $18,000 debt and I have paid $500 in interest. Is that atrocious??!!

Paid another installment towards my loan this month. I have a long... looooong way to go to become debt free. It looks like it is going to take forever, but I will get there and stay debt free!!

I knew I was in debt and I knew it was a lot more than I can handle. I finally summed up my loans and credit card balances and I AM $18,300 IN DEBT!! I hope this public tracking will help me to stay on course to repay this ASAP. Anyway, I registered for a free budget tool account and it has a debt tracker. I hope to pay more than the minimum due. This month I paid $600. Not a lot over the minimum due, but ok.

I saw some posts here about debt and their progress in paying off their debt. So I thought of doing the same. I would like to get out of debt ASAP or, more realistically, in a few years... so that is my main goal now. I have also decided to use some software to help me track my expenses. I found many in the internet, but not quite sure which one to use. Any suggestions?
